Dr Allen Frances

International Psychiatrist

Dr. Frances is Professor and Chair Emeritus in the Department of Psychiatry at Duke University. He was chair of the DSM IV Task Force and was instrumental in the preparation of DSM III and DSM IIIR. He has written several hundred peer reviewed papers; dozens of book chapters; a dozen books; and has received a dozen research grants. He is the author of “Saving Normal”; “Essentials of Psychiatric Diagnosis”; and “Twilight of American Sanity”.
